The tornado warning issued for north-central Grand Forks County and southeastern Walsh County until 5 p.m. has expired. The storm has weakened below severe limits and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property, according to the National Weather Service.
Additional strong thunderstorms still are possible for the region, the weather service says, and a severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for the region until 10 p.m.
At last report, 4:26 p.m., Doppler radar had indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Forest River, moving east at 25 mph. But the storm has since weakened.
