Strong northwest winds and falling temperatures today mean one certain thing: Wind chills are back in the weather talk - today falling to the neighborhood of zero degrees for some of us, according to the National Weather Service office in Grand Forks.
The Devils Lake and Langdon areas are under a wind advisory this morning, with gusts expected up to 45 mph.
Many of us will also see widespread accumulating snow Saturday night and Sunday, with as much as four or more inches possible through the weekend.
Expect highs only in the teens most of Thanksgiving week, the weather service says.
Along the U.S.-Canada border counties in the northern Red River region, one to five inches of snow had been expected overnight with gusty winds and blowing and drifting snow continuing into today - with much colder air to boot, the weather service said.

Roads had scattered snow drifts from the Bottineau, N.D., area east into northwest Minnesota closer to the international border, according to road reports.
Meanwhile, western and central North Dakota have been treated to multiple weather advisories for today and the weekend.
Portions of western and north-central North Dakota are expected to get four to six inches of accumulating snow by Sunday night, with two to four inches more likely in south-central North Dakota, the weather service says.
They'll get the cold air, too, especially Monday through Wednesday, when highs from 5 to 15 degrees above zero are forecast and wind chills ranging - in very winter-like fashion - from 20 below to 35 below zero at times.
To the east of the valley, freezing drizzle is possible across parts of north-central and northeast Minnesota, the weather service says, especially in an area from Duluth to Walker. More snow is expected closer to the U.S.-Canada border.
