Here comes an Alberta clipper. And there goes our milder weather of recent days.
Stronger winds and declining temperatures with some light snow will come to dominate much of the region tonight, while the likelihood of three to five inches of new snow in Roseau, Lake of the Woods and northern Beltrami counties has prompted a winter weather advisory in that area and points east until 6 tonight.
The snow will develop this morning and taper off during the evening, with snow heavy at times
in the afternoon, reducing visibilities in the Lake of the Woods region.
Closer to the Red River Valley, only light snow is expected, and the better chance of it later tonight, but increasingly strong winds could combine with existing snow cover to cause considerable blowing and drifting, particularly in open country. Up to an inch of snow is possible.

The morning started out warmer, with the temperature rising and around 25 degrees as of 8 a.m. and creeping to 28 degrees shortly before 1 p.m.
The high today is forecast at near 30 degrees, but then it will begin taking a sharp turn - and feel much colder tonight as winds switch from the south to the west-northwest.
Ultimately, a new round of extreme cold is expected to settle in and ensure subzero temperatures from sometime Saturday into midweek.
