The good news: No severe weather is expected, according to the weather service.

Still, brief heavy rains are possible with these storms, the weather service says.

The same goes for showers and some thunderstorms that could develop Friday night into Saturday, the weather service says. Again, no severe weather is expected with those storms, either.

Today: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. Southeast wind between 5 and 8 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Northwest wind between 5 and 7 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
