WEATHER: Hazardous wind chills expected tonight into Friday a.m.

The National Weather Service is warning residents of northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota to be prepared for hazardous wind chills tonight into Friday morning.

The National Weather Service is warning residents of northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota to be prepared for hazardous wind chills tonight into Friday morning.

According to the weather service, a strong cold front will move into the region today and usher in much colder temperatures the end of the week.

The mercury tonight will dip as low as minus 10 degree, and winds could gust to 20 miles per hour, producing wind chills in the minus 20 to minus 30 range.

The weather service forecast for Grand Forks:

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 10 below. Wind chill values as low as 28 below.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 4. Wind chill values as low as 29 below.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 7 below. Wind chill values as low as 17 below.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 10. Winds between 6 and 9 mph.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 25.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 29.
