Some freezing drizzle or sleet is possible this afternoon and tonight over portions of the northern Red River region, and that could make for some slippery roads.
The line of sleet or freezing drizzle is expected roughly north of a line from Bemidji west to Grafton, N.D., to Cando, N.D., the National Weather Service says.
The freezing precipitation might be mixed with snow and will change over to snow after midnight, the weather service says.
Over the far northern portions of northwest Minnesota's Lake of the Woods County, as much as 4 inches of snow is possible tonight and Tuesday, the weather service says.
