The northern Red River Valley forecast this week includes a 40 percent chance of snow Wednesday.
Central North Dakota is dealing with new snow this morning - and winds, too; there's a winter weather advisory until noon.
One to three inches of new snow is likely in central North Dakota, which, combined with gusty winds, is causing blowing and drifting and sometimes reduced visibilities.
People in parts of the Dakotas also are dealing with freezing drizzle as they begin their work week. The National Weather Service says light freezing rain or light snow is possible throughout western and central South Dakota and North Dakota.
To the southeast of the Red River valley, there's a wind chill advisory for portions of southern and central Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin this morning.
