MARMARTH, N.D. -- Nearly 400 barrels of water used for enhanced oil recovery were spilled in Bowman County, according to the North Dakota Department of Health.
The spill began at a well owned by Denbury Onshore after a pipeline broke six miles south of Marmarth.
According to the health department, the water that was released contains dissolved solids and unspecified minerals.
The department did not specify where the water drained to, but the health department said they will work with the company to cleanup the spill.
