Though the event took place in mainly alleyways, Alley Alive in downtown Grand Forks was hard to miss.

Music and crowds could be heard a block down as the event celebrated local art and businesses, attracting pedestrians to the Alley of Love Friday evening.

"Our goal is to really showcase the artists and the musicians and the crafts that are created here in town," Alley Alive director Blue Weber said.

Weber explained this particular Alley Alive event was a collaborative effort with UND student government, local entrepreneurs and ArtSee at the Empire Arts Center, with all groups offering their services to make the event a success.

Two more Alley Alive events are in the works, Weber said. The group is planning a Pack the Alley event to raise money for local children and Manitoba Day to "celebrate our northerly neighbors," he said.
