A Warroad, Minn., man was listed in good condition Wednesday afternoon at MeritCare Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls after a two-vehicle collision Tuesday in Pennington County.

Lowell Peterson, 70, was stopped on U.S. Highway 59 waiting to turn left at about 10:50 a.m. when his 2000 Mercury Mountaineer was struck from behind by a 2002 GMC Envoy driven by Roger Holmstrom, 55, of Bemidji, the Minnesota Highway Patrol said in a press release.

The highway was wet at the time and both men were wearing seat belts. Peterson's vehicle was a total loss and Holmstrom's was severely damaged. Holmstrom declined medical treatment, the patrol said.
