Warren, Minn., woman dead, 4 injured after Monday head-on collision

A Warren, Minn., woman died Monday after a head-on collision with another vehicle one mile west of Newfolden, Minn., according to a release by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.

A Warren, Minn., woman died Monday after a head-on collision with another vehicle one mile west of Newfolden, Minn., according to a release by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.

The release said Amanda R. Kittleson, 27, was traveling east on County Road 26 at around 6:10 p.m. when she lost control of her Ford van and collided with a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Catherine M. Kujava of Argyle, Minn.

Kittleson had three passengers in her car, including another female and two children. All four people were transported to Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls, where Kittleson died as a result of her injuries.

Kujava also was taken to the Thief River Falls hospital.

The release said everyone involved in the crash either was wearing a seatbelt or was in a car seat.

The Newfolden Fire and Rescue, Middle River Ambulance and Karlstad Ambulance all responded.

The Marshall County Sheriff's office is still investigating the accident.
