Volunteers sought Tuesday afternoon for Grand Forks area sandbagging

Volunteers are requested for today for volunteer sandbagging in Grand Forks. The bus will be leaving from the main southeast entrance of the Alerus Center, 1200 S. 42nd St., today at 1, 3 and 5 p.m.

All volunteers must register before leaving so allow time to complete the registration before the departure time, according to a news release from the city.

"Residents will need to be ready to work and be dressed appropriately for volunteering," the release said. "Gloves, work boots and layers of clothing are suggested. Volunteers should be in good health and able to lift the weight of the sandbags.

Volunteers may park their vehicles at the Alerus Center parking lot.
