VIRGINIA, Minn. -- As authorities continue to search for suspects, the suspicious death of a Virginia man has officially been ruled a homicide, the Virginia Police Department announced Thursday.
Harley Joseph Jacka, 28, was found dead in a residence at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. A man who lives at the residence called 911 to report that there was a deceased man in his house, police said.
An autopsy was performed Wednesday by the St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s Office. The official cause of death was not released, but authorities said it was due to “homicidal violence.”
The Virginia Police Department, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, St. Louis County Attorney’s Office, Eveleth Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate.

“(The agencies) are working together to bring the person or persons responsible for this crime to justice,” Virginia Police Chief Dennis Benz said in a statement. “The investigation continues and as we learn more, we will continue to update the information.”
