Every Tuesday evening the parking lot of El Roco bar and grill in Grand Forks becomes a car show.
Prime Steel Car Club is hosting a weekly cruise night during the summer for classic and special interest car enthusiasts from around the region.
“It’s laid back, it’s not a judged show or anything like that,” said Jim Myers, a member of the board of directors for Prime Steel Car Club as well as a founding member, “You just bring what you have, it doesn’t have to be a fancy car, it doesn’t even have to be done.”
Myers said that, when the weather cooperates, they’ve filled the entire parking lot with special interest cars as well as spectators, noting an increased interest for the unique cars over the years.
For Myers the cars are an important outlet, “I think restoring a car is like medicine. If you have a bad day at work or if you have a high tense job or a lot of high pressure at work,” he said, “If I come home and go in my shop and crack a beverage and get going on a little project I forget about everything, it makes it all better.”
