This morning Grand Forks police identified two victims in Tuesday's shooting at a Wal-Mart Supercenter in south Grand Forks.
Gregory Weiland, 70, of Grand Forks died from wounds he sustained in the shooting at the hands of Marcell Willis.
Lisa Braun, 47, of Grand Forks suffered injuries in the shooting. Altru Hospital released a statement this morning that a patient who suffered injuries in the shooting was in satisfactory condition.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday , Willis, originally from Springfield, Tenn., walked into Wal-Mart Supercenter, 2551 32nd Ave. S., and shot two employees, according to police. Willis then walked further into the store, shot toward another worker and missed, and then turned the gun on himself. Officers found a handgun near Willis when they arrived and attempted to provide medical assistance before he was taken to Altru, where he was pronounced dead.
Willis was on active duty at Grand Forks Air Force Base. Base officials declined to release any information on Willis -- including his rank and how long he had been stationed at the base -- saying a news release will be available Wednesday.

The motive remains unknown, said Grand Forks Police Lt. Derik Zimmel, adding police believe the victims were strangers to Willis.
As of Tuesday afternoon, there was no indication Willis was suffering from a mental illness, Zimmel said. He did not know whether Willis was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the shooting.
