A 79-year-old man killed in a one-vehicle crash near Devils Lake Wednesday afternoon has been identified as Floyd Austin, Devils Lake.
He was a passenger in a 2003 Ford F150 operated by Scott Austin, 48, Devils Lake, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Floyd Austin was a retired Ramsey County highway engineer.
The accident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday along Ramsey County 3, 11 miles north of Crary, N.D., which is about 15 miles east of Devils Lake.
The pickup was southbound on the county road when it veered to the left and entered the east ditch, the Highway Patrol reported. The vehicle vaulted over a field approach, became airborne and rolled about two times; coming to rest on it wheels, facing west.

Funeral services, with military honors by Neathery-Simensen Post 756, Devils Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Team, are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Devils Lake.
