Snowfall throughout North Dakota on Friday and early today, combined with existing flooding covering a number of roads in the state has made for treacherous travel in many parts of the state today.
The only part of Interstate 29 in North Dakota that is closed continues to be a stretch between the Manvel and Grafton interchanges that is being detoured away from the interstate in both directions.
Water is near the edge of the shoulder in both the northbound and southbound lanes of I-29 between Argusville and north of Harwood. Speeds in that stretch have been reduced to 45 mph.
The rest of I-29 is open, but the interstate was covered in a mix of snow, compacted snow, wet slush, scattered snow drifts and water this morning between the Canadian border and Fargo.
North Dakota Highway 17 is closed to through traffic and only open to local traffic from I-29 to the Red River.

North Dakota Highway 5 is closed from Jollinette to the Red River due to water over the roadway.
