FARGO - Police say a juvenile boy who was crossing the street Friday afternoon after getting off a school bus was struck by a car and taken to the hospital.
A Fargo school bus was stopped on 25th Avenue South at 15th Street with its lights on and stop arm out, Sgt. Ross Renner said.
A two-door Pontiac Grand Prix was eastbound on 25th Avenue South and it appears that the car struck the boy as he was crossing the street, Renner said.
"At this time, it would be premature for us to say whether or not (the driver) actually ran that red arm out or not," he said.
The boy was taken to Essentia Health with unknown injuries.

The initial dispatch call said the boy was 5 years old and couldn't move, but Renner said his age and the extent of his injuries wasn't known.
The driver's name was not released.
Renner said the bus company was transferring some students to other buses. Other students were picked up at the scene by their parents, including one tearful mother who embraced her child after he got off the bus.
"Obviously, anytime we have an incident like this, it's very emotionally charged for all the parents that have kids that are on buses," Renner said.
