North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem banned two contractors from working in the state Wednesday for misrepresentations and working without a license.
An investigation of Chad Edward Johnson of Michigan, N.D., found he did not have a contractor’s license after a customer complained about his work not being up to code and for refusing to repair a carpet he destroyed, according to a news release.
Stenehjem’s office also found that David Alderman, doing business as Alderman Roofing & Construction, had taken a payment of $7,000 to repair a roof but had not done the work or purchased any supplies. Investigators also found that Alderman, now living in Montana, did not have a license, according to the news release. His company was involuntarily dissolved in December.
