The UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences' new building has entered the design phase, according to the university Friday.
Local firm JLG Architects and its design partners at Perkins + Will spent the summer collecting information from faculty, staff and students and will design the building over the next few months.
The $122.45 million building will be on an 8.25-acre site on the southwest corner of North Columbia Road and Gateway Drive in Grand Forks.
Groundbreaking is expected to take place in July and construction may be completed by 2016.
