A UND administrator has been hired at another university.
Vice President for Student Affairs Lori Reesor has been named vice provost for student affairs and dean of students at Indiana University Bloomington, according to a news release.
Reesor will succeed Harold “Pete” Goldsmith, who will retire from IU June 30. Plans aren’t finalized, but Reesor said she expects to start work at IU in July.
Reesor has been at UND since 2011. In recent months, she has been a finalist but ultimately was not selected for jobs in administration at the University of Florida, Iowa State University and Illinois State University.
In a campuswide email, interim UND President Ed Schafer said an interim leader will be appointed in Reesor’s absence and the structure of the Division of Student Affairs will be reviewed.

Reesor said in an email to the Herald she has loved working at UND.
“We have worked hard and made a number of positive changes for students and the University,” she said. “I love the students I have connected with as well as wonderful colleagues.”
In her time at UND, Reesor was named a Pillar of the Profession by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and received the Fred Turner Award for Outstanding Service from the same organization.
She also was one of several administrators named in a proposed vote of no-confidence by the Student Senate in 2015 that cited issues with transparency. The resolution was tabled indefinitely.
