UND's Center for Human Rights and Genocide has scheduled a series of programs related to a human rights photo exhibit currently being shown at Chester Fritz Library.

The photo exhibit called "The Rescuers: Picturing moral courage," will be on the fourth floor of the library until April 12 during regular library hours. Images and text in the exhibition tell the story of brave individuals who risked everything to save would-be victims during the Holocaust and genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda and Bosnia. Programs connected to the exhibit will involve on a weekly basis one UND professor and student presenting on one of the genocides featured. The professor will provide the historical context and the student will tell the story of a rescuer.

The tributes continue at 6 p.m. tonight, March 26, in the East Asian room of the library where professor Brian Urlacher and student Gabriel Vossberg are set to discuss the history and rescuer roles related to the Rwandan Genocide.

Terry Shoptaugh of Minnesota State University-Moorhead will present clips from Schindler's List and discuss the Holocaust. The event will be held at 7 p.m. on April 4 in the Baker Courtroom of UND's School of Law.

John Cox of North Dakota State University and UND student Kamrin Rausch will discuss the history and rescuer roles related to the Bosnian Genocide. The event will be held 7 p.m. on April 9 in the East Asian Room of the library.
