A UND graduate is making a late entry to North Dakota's general election race.

Bismarck attorney Robert Bolinske has announced he's running for the North Dakota Supreme Court as a write-in candidate. He has been certified as a candidate by the North Dakota Secretary of State for the four-year unexpired term open because of the resignation of Justice William Neumann.

Bolinske was raised near Oberon, N.D., and graduated from high school in Rugby, N.D. In 1966, he graduated magna cum laude from UND, where he also was selected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He graduated in 1969 from Harvard Law School.

Bolinske was a trial lawyer in Minneapolis until 1974 when he returned to Bismarck. He's practiced as a trial lawyer for more than 35 years.

Attorney Daniel Crothers, an interim appointee, also is running for the seat.
