FARGO - Police here are investigating whether two stabbings are related after both victims said they had been at The Hub bar shortly before the incidents.

Both stabbings were reported by Innovis Health, where the victims were taken for treatment of nonlife-threatening wounds, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

Police responded at 2:05 a.m. to the first report regarding a 21-year-old man from Fargo who was stabbed in the abdomen.

The victim told police he was at The Hub, 2525 9th Ave. S., and when it closed he walked across the street to the Big Top Bingo parking lot to wait for a ride. He said he was stabbed by an unknown male who came up behind him.

The second stabbing was reported shortly after the first. The victim, a 22-year-old Minot man, told police he and a friend had been in an argument with another party at The Hub.

They left the bar and were driving to a residence when a vehicle rammed them from behind. Both vehicles pulled into a Stop-N-Go and a group of males got out of the ramming vehicle and attacked the victim and his friend, a 21-year-old man also from Minot.

The victim said he was hit in the head and doesn't remember anything after that. It appears he was stabbed more than once, Lykken said.

His friend was struck in the head with pieces of firewood.

Police are investigating whether the stabbing victims may have had contact with each other at bar closing time, Lykken said.
