Two Red Lake women have been charged in connection with a kidnapping at the Red Lake Indian Reservation, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for Minnesota.
The indictment, filed on July 23, charges Melanie Rose Benais, 27, and Ronalda Myra Smith, 33, with one count of kidnapping.
They face a potential maximum penalty of life in prison, if convicted.
