Two Red Lake Falls, Minn., men were killed Thursday night when the vehicle they were in slid off the road and wrapped around a tree after hitting it broadside.
Neither Terry Balderston, 30, nor his cousin, 19-year-old Shawn Balderston, were wearing seatbelts when the accident occurred.
A Minnesota State Patrol crash report said Terry Balderston was driving a 1996 Buick Rivera on Minnesota Highway 32 approaching Fourth Street in Red Lake Falls at 11:14 p.m. on a slushy roadway when he lost control of the vehicle.
Terry Balderston was transported to a hospital in Thief River Falls, where he was pronounced dead. Shawn Balderston was transported to a hospital in Crookston and pronounced dead.
The Balderstons were the only two people the vehicle.
