Two Red Lake Falls men killed in crash

Two Red Lake Falls, Minn., men were killed Thursday night when the vehicle they were in slid off the road and wrapped around a tree after hitting it broadside.

Neither Terry Balderston, 30, nor his cousin, 19-year-old Shawn Balderston, were wearing seatbelts when the accident occurred.

A Minnesota State Patrol crash report said Terry Balderston was driving a 1996 Buick Rivera on Minnesota Highway 32 approaching Fourth Street in Red Lake Falls at 11:14 p.m. on a slushy roadway when he lost control of the vehicle.

Terry Balderston was transported to a hospital in Thief River Falls, where he was pronounced dead. Shawn Balderston was transported to a hospital in Crookston and pronounced dead.

The Balderstons were the only two people the vehicle.
