WAHPETON, N.D. - The Richland County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men accused of possessing methamphetamine and $140,000 worth of stolen property.
David William Koapke, 35, of Minot and Benjamen Wayne Smith, 36, of Williston were each charged with possession of stolen property and possession with intent to deliver meth, both felonies. Koapke was also charged with giving false information to an officer, a misdemeanor.
On Wednesday, deputies found the stolen property -- a 2011 Ford F-350 pickup truck, a 2012 30-foot gooseneck trailer and two skid-steer loaders -- at the J-Star gas station about three miles east of Hankinson, the sheriff’s office said.
The truck and trailer were reported stolen in Williston on Sunday, and the skid-steer loaders were reported stolen in Bismarck on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said.
Along with finding the property, deputies arrested Smith and Koapke at the gas station, the sheriff’s office said. The sheriff’s office did not say how much meth was recovered.
