HUDSON, Wis. -- Two men were charged Tuesday in a shooting that injured three people Sunday in front of a Hudson liquor store.
The suspects are Guled Bile Abdi, 22, and Ahmed Farah Hirsi, 26, both of Minneapolis. They were charged by the St. Croix County District Attorney' Office with six counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, three counts of first-degree reckless injury and and six counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety. Both were being held in the Hennepin (Minn.) County Jail awaiting extradition to Wisconsin.
Police said the shooting occurred just before 9:25 a.m. Sunday in front of Spirit Seller Liquors, and that the suspects were arrested more than an hour later at a Bloomington, Minn., hotel.
Injured were Abdirahman Abdirizak Hersi, 23, of Minneapolis; Mohamed Deballa Hussein, 21, of Savage, Minn.; and Fartun Ibrahim Aidid, 28, of Hopkins, Minn. Police said Hersi and Hussein were out of the hospital, but Aidid remained in critical condition at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
Witnesses reported that a late-90s Cadillac sedan was involved in the shooting and had fled into Minnesota, police said. An Eagan, Minn., officer spotted a vehicle matching the description and followed it to the hotel, where the arrests were made.
