Two drivers injured in head-on crash in Mahnomen, Minn.

MAHNOMEN, Minn. - Occupants of two cars were injured Thursday night when one driver struck another while driving on the shoulder of the wrong side of the road without headlights.

MAHNOMEN, Minn. - Occupants of two cars were injured Thursday night when one driver struck another while driving on the shoulder of the wrong side of the road without headlights.

Valentin R. Olivera, 21, of Minneapolis was driving northbound along the southbound shoulder of Highway 59 in Mahnomen at 10:39 p.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Olivera was struck head-on by a southbound vehicle driven by Jason A. Wambach, 38, of Ogema, Minn., and was transported by Mahnomen ambulance to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Wambach received minor injuries.
