Two Drayton, N.D., teens were treated and released Tuesday night from Altru Hospital after a two-vehicle accident off Interstate 29 in Pembina County, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.
Austin Meshefski, 17, and his passenger, Stephan Swatlowski, 17, were heading west over exit 187 just before 6 p.m. when their 1994 Ford Ranger was struck on the driver's side by a 1998 Chevy pickup driven by Martin Acevado, 27, Grafton, N.D. The patrol said Acevado was coming off I-29 east into Drayton when he pulled in front of Meshefski.
The patrol said Swatlowski was not wearing a seat belt. He and Meshefski were taken to Altru by Drayton Ambulance.
The Ford Ranger received heavy front-end damage while the Chevy sustained driver-side damage.
The crash is under investigation.
