A Grygla, Minn., woman was injured Thursday afternoon in a two-car collision in Marshall County, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
At 4:45 p.m., Shannon K. Brateng, 37, was eastbound on County Road 7 in a 2001 Dodge Neon when she stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 but did not see an approaching vehicle.
According to the patrol, Brateng pulled out in front of a 2008 Saturn car driven by Miranda L. Dunrud, 22, of Viking, Minn., and intended to keep driving east on County Road 7.
The driver's side front of the Saturn collided with the front end of Brateng's car, sending her Neon onto the northbound traffic lane of Highway 59. Both vehicles were totaled.
Dunrud was not injured in the crash. Brateng, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls before being transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
