JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- Two men are reported missing and believed drowned, after a boating accident on Spiritwood Lake near Jamestown early Monday.
Three men were reported to be in a canoe on the lake when it capsized shortly after midnight.
One man was able to reach the shore. He tried to pull another man to safety but was unable to. The man is presumed to have drowned. The third man has not been located, but it’s believed that he also drowned as a result of the incident.
The Stutsman County Dive Team was dispatched earlier to the scene in an attempt to locate the bodies.

The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office is asking boaters to stay off Spiritwood Lake to allow dive crews better access to the lake.
Also assisting are the Jamestown Fire Department, Jamestown Police Department and North Dakota Game & Fish Department.
The man who made it to shore has been assisting the dive crews in an attempt to locate the drowning victims.
