WATFORD CITY, N.D. -- A truck traveling on U.S. Highway 85 hit the top portion of the Long X Bridge that spans the Little Missouri River on Friday evening, according to authorities.
“I believe it hit the top portion from the beginning to the end of the bridge,” said Katie Pizza, public information officer for the Williston District North Dakota Department of Transportation.
The driver, carrying equipment, hit the overhead beams of the bridge, which is located about 16 miles south of Watford City.
Pizza said a bridge inspection team reported there was minimal damage to the bridge.
