A two-car train derailment where tracks cross Gateway Drive in Grand Forks caused traffic delays for about an hour Monday morning.
According to Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, the two grain cars came off the storage track at about 9:50 a.m. The trains were traveling at about 5 miles and hour and remained upright. The east-bound lanes of Gateway Drive was blocked until BNSF crews could pull the cars back from the intersection, which took about 50 minutes.
The cars were "re-railed" at about noon, and there were no injuries reported, said Gus Melonas, a spokesman for BNSF.
