The Toasted Frog, a popular downtown Grand Forks restaurant, opened a second location Tuesday in downtown Bismarck, one of the owners said.
"We weren't going to open until we thought we were ready," said Shawn Clapp, who runs the Grand Forks location.
Fans of the restaurant have been asking about the opening date for many months. But Clapp and Jon Holth, the other owner, located in Bismarck, haven't been able to say, even though they received a liquor license in Bismarck more than a year ago.
"Things took a little longer than we hoped," Clapp said. Remodeling an existing space and one that wasn't previously a restaurant, he said, you tend to encounter unexpected issues. "We found them all," he said.
The space at 124 N. Fourth St. used to be a hairstyling college, he said.

The Bismarck restaurant offers the same menu, wine list and ambience as the Grand Forks restaurant, he said.
Clapp and Holth opened the Grand Forks Frog in 2006.
