Three arrested after breaking into Fargo water tower to "make some memories"

FARGO--Three Fargo men were arrested Monday night after they broke into a water tower on the city's north side to "make some memories," police said Tuesday.

FARGO-Three Fargo men were arrested Monday night after they broke into a water tower on the city's north side to "make some memories," police said Tuesday.

Police were alerted about 11:02 p.m. to an alarm sounding at the city's water tower in the 1400 block of 10th Street North, said Fargo police Lt. Mike Mitchell. There, they found three men leaving the secure fenced area around the water tower. All three fled when they saw the officers, Mitchell said.

Two of the men stopped and were taken into custody right away, but one man continued to flee toward his North Dakota State University-area apartment, and tried to hide from officers until he was arrested, Mitchell said.

The men told officers they broke into the water tower to "make some memories." One told them he climbed to the top and back down before officers arrived, Mitchell said.

David Adrian, 20, Gabriel Zempel, 19, and Austin Weigel, 21, were arrested on suspicion of trespassing. Weigel also faces charges of resisting arrest.

No alcohol is suspected of contributing to the incident, Mitchell said.
