Runners and walkers, get out your Nikes for the Firecracker Run/Walk. Children, prepare to decorate yourselves, your bicycles, even your pets in red, white and blue for the Patriotic Kids Parade. Moms and dads, dress up your little ones for the Cutest Baby Contest.

All will be part of Saturday's Fourth of July celebration in Grand Forks, a day of concerts, food, music, fireworks and more in the Town Square downtown.

The Greater Grand Forks Sertoma Club 4th of July Festival will begin at 8 a.m. at Lincoln Park with the Firecracker 10K Run and 5K Fun Run/Walk. If you haven't pre-registered, the fee will be $25 and $15, which includes a T-shirt, water bottle and post-race refreshments while supplies last.

- City band: The Greater Grand Forks City Band will play a concert in Town Square beginning at 11:30 a.m.

- Kiddie Parade: The Patriotic Kids Parade has a new route this year. Participants are invited to line up beginning at 1130 a.m. in the parking lot northeast of Guesthouse International Inn (formerly the Townhouse) in Grand Forks.

The parade will begin at noon. Here's the route: From First Avenue North (going northeast) for three blocks; then right to North Third Street for one block; then cross DeMers Avenue and enter Town Square.

Entry is free to all children. Prizes will be awarded during opening ceremonies for bikes, wagons, groups, individuals, infants, most patriotic and pets. Info: gfsertoma.com.

- Raffles: Raffle tickets will be $5 each for prizes such as a trip for two to Hawaii, a trip for two to Las Vegas, and a family weekend getaway to the Clarion Inn. Winners will be announced at 9:15 p.m. Saturday.

- Silent auction: You can bid on the silent auction from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for items such as a year of free movies from Blockbuster, a John Deere child's scooter from Forks Equipment and a

1-hour massage from Joy's Therapeutic Massage. For a complete list of items, go to gfsertoma.com/. Silent auction winners will be announced at 9:15 p.m. Saturday.

- Cutest Baby: Reeves Photography at 28 S. Third St. (next to Sanders 1905 Restaurant) will photograph babies as old as 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. The photos will be displayed in a store window and winners will be announced at 4:30 p.m. Prizes: $100, $50 and $25 gift certificates from Reeves.

- Music: In addition to the City Band, three other bands will play on the Greenway: Bethany & The Bandits, 1 to 3 p.m.; Kenny & the Classics, 3 to 6 p.m.; and Identity 5, 7 to 10 p.m.

- Activities for children and families: A kids pedal-pull contest will begin at 1 p.m.. A tae kwon do presentation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. From 1 to, 6 p.m., there will be Artwise activities, trolley and buggy rides, henna tattoos, Hits & Giggles, the Backwoods Ranch Petting Zoo, Special Olympics, Fire Department house, Dakota Science Center activities and Kids Bounce Fun. Travis the juggler will present a workshop at 4 p.m.

- Free watermelon: The free watermelon feed will be at 3:30 p.m.

- Fireworks: The fireworks extravaganza will kick off at 10:30 p.m. on the banks of the Red River of the North. Listen to 104.3 FM radio for patriotic music during the fireworks.
