MOORHEAD - A suspended Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestler accused of getting another student drunk in his dorm room and then videotaping himself sexually assaulting her pleaded guilty Monday in Clay County District Court.

Under the terms of a plea deal struck between prosecutors and attorneys for Angel Mario Vega, 23, of Olivera, Calif., Vega will serve four months in jail and be required to register as a sex offender for the Sept. 1 assault.

Vega was a senior and a member of the wrestling team last fall when he purchased alcohol for the 18-year-old student, got her drunk in his dorm room, then sexually assaulted her in the dorm lounge while she was too incapacitated to resist, he told a Clay County District judge at his plea hearing Monday.

Court documents alleged Vega taped himself raping the woman, who was vomiting and passed out during the incident. Documents also say Vega invited other students in the dorm to "see something crazy" in the dorm lounge, where the woman was lying partially nude and intoxicated.

When the other students saw what was happening, they called the police, documents say.

Vega entered a plea to fourth-degree criminal sexual contact with a person mentally impaired or helpless.

His sentencing is set for June 22.
