The season's first accumulating snow remains possible this weekend, notably in the Devils Lake basin, northeast North Dakota and possibly extreme northwest Minnesota, according to the National Weather Service.
A chance of rain and snow is possible Sunday for Grand Forks, the weather service says.
"A storm system will form in the Colorado Rockies on Saturday, then move into the northern plains on Saturday night and Sunday," according to a weather service statement. "Precipitation may begin as rain on Saturday before mixing with or changing to snow on Saturday night. Accumulating snow is possible along with increasing winds on Saturday night that may cause reduced visibilities in blowing snow if enough cold air moves into the region.
"At this time it appears the Devils Lake basin into northeast North Dakota could receive snow accumulations and the potential for blowing snow. The exact track of this storm is still uncertain, so stay tuned to later forecasts if you have travel plans this weekend."
