The Roseau County Fair is in full swing through  Friday, located a quarter mile north on state Highway 310 in Roseau, Minn.

The fair committee says this quaint, hometown fair has everything that makes a fair special: carnival rides, animals, booths, grandstand events, and food.

The grandstand lineup for this summer features chariot races  Tuesday, musicians Kari and Billy  Wednesday, a rodeo  Thursday and demolition derby  Friday. There will also be a parade at 5:30 p.m.  Tuesday and a kids pedal tractor pull at noon  Thursday, plus mini stage performances and 4-H events throughout the week in addition to the rides, booths and food.

Halloween in July: Turtle River State Park, located 22 miles west of Grand Forks, is hosting its annual Halloween in July event  Friday through Sunday. Bring a flashlight  Friday night at9:30 p.m. to see what bloodcurdling nightlife might be out in the park after dark. Join the Dakota Explorers at 9:30 a.m.  Saturday to learn about scary animal adaptations. The real fun begins Saturday night at 7 p.m. with a costume contest at the amphitheater, with prizes awarded for first, second and third in different age categories, followed by trick or treating through the campground at 8 p.m. and a family-friendly movie at 9:30 p.m. To wrap up the weekend, join an interpretive naturalist for some fright recovery coffee and hot chocolate at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Learning at the Lakes: The Rydell National Wildlife Refuge continues its Learning at the Lakes program at 1 p.m.  Sunday in the Visitor Center. This week’s theme is “Inside a Beehive.” Info: (218) 687-2229.

Movie in the Park: Enjoy movies under the stars throughout the summer at various Grand Forks parks. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy family-friendly classics, action, adventure and new releases. The next film will be “Little Rascals” starting at sundown  July 29at Riverside Park. Concert Nights at the Gazebo: Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and refreshments and enjoy an evening of outdoor entertainment. Roseau, Minn., will hold concerts from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays at the gazebo in Roseau Riverview Park.
