SUMMER FARE: Mentor Farmers' Market returns

Mentor, Minn., is holding its eighth annual Farmers' Market , running every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon through September. Throughout the summer, the market will provide a variety of fresh produce, jams, salsa, honey, baked goods, jewelry, weaving, live plants, nightcrawlers, area souvenirs, homemade beauty products and more. Erickson Smokehouse of Fertile, Minn., will be providing hot morning breakfast items, along with ready-to-heat, fully cooked ribs, brisket, beans and other side salads. Wednesday this week brings BMX racing at the Red River BMX Track , two miles west of Grand Forks on U.S. Highway 2, as well as Go Kart Racing at the Grand Forks Fairground, 2300 Gateway Drive.

Dixie Swim Club, a comedy play that celebrates friendship, will be performed at the Fire Hall Theatre , 412 Second Ave. N., Grand Forks, at 7:30 p.m., Thursday through Saturdays through June 13. Admission is $15 and $12 for seniors, students, or military, or $10 per person for groups of 12 or more. Tickets are available at 6:30 on the day of performance, or (701) 777-4090.

The Grand Cities Art Fest will be held in the Town Square in Grand Forks on June 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free admission and parking are included, as well as more than 160 artists, two food courts, live entertainment, free kids craft-making, and more.

The Northern Cruz Car Club will be presenting its first "Beauties on the Berm" for this season, in conjunction with its regular Cruz Night. All Ford vehicles will be featured, and all area Ford owners and enthusiasts are invited to Culver's restaurant, 3451 32nd Ave. S., Grand Forks, on June 11 from 6 to 8 p.m., weather permitting.
