Study shows cost, look of Fargodome expansion

FARGO -- Architects today presented the Dome Addition Task Force with a nearly finished study of what a Fargodome expansion could look like and cost.

FARGO -- Architects today presented the Dome Addition Task Force with a nearly finished study of what a Fargodome expansion could look like and cost.

Kansas City, Mo.-based Threesixty Architecture and Fargo-based T.L. Stroh Architects and Interiors were hired in June to create a concept for the proposed addition.

The result is a $31.4 million arena on the southeast corner of the Fargodome.

The 6,000-seat arena would include seating on all sides for basketball games, though it could also host trade shows and concerts.

It's expected to take 36 months to design and build.

Dome Addition Task Force members must now submit changes to the study results.

The city will likely decide whether to proceed after a marketing study is completed in February, said Brad Wimmer, a city commissioner who is chairman of the task force.
