An approaching second blizzard expected to bring as much as 9 inches of snow to the Red River Valley is causing delayed flights at the Grand Forks International Airport and cancellations at Fargo's Hector International Airport.
At 4 p.m., the Grand Forks airport's website listed two delayed arrivals for evening flights from Minneapolis. Delta flight 3832 was scheduled to arrive at 6:30 p.m. but expected to be delayed until 8:04 p.m.; and flight 4048 was expected to arrive at 9:25 p.m., about 45 minutes later than scheduled.
But Thursday's storm brought its worst to the southern Red River Valley, including freezing rain and heavy snowfall that prompted North Dakota officials to keep the region's major highways closed due to hazardous traveling conditions.
Fargo's Hector International Airport canceled seven departing flights scheduled for this afternoon and evening.
According to the airport's website, Delta flight 2866 from Minneapolis is expected to arrive on time at 8:33 p.m. But the other eight flights scheduled to arrive at Hector International Airport later today have all been canceled.
