Many area events are being canceled or postponed because of the winter storm striking the area.
The NO travel advisory for Central and Eastern North Dakota has been lifted.
Local officials are asking residents to use caution when traveling by reducing speeds in areas where there may be blowing snow and icy road conditions. Be advised of changing road conditions.
Similar conditions exist in much of northwest and west-central Minnesota, according to the state Department of Transportation Web site.
The Pembina and Walsh county sheriff's offices advises cautious driving throughout their counties.

Use caution when driving on the following road segments:
-- All of Interstate 29 in North Dakota.
-- All highways east of North Dakota Highway 3 to the Red River. This includes the areas of Grand Forks, Devils Lake, Valley City, Jamestown, Wahpeton and Fargo.
-- Interstate 94 from Fargo to Dawson, N.D.

UND music concert canceled
The UND Wind Ensemble and University Band concert scheduled tonight at the Chester Fritz has been canceled.

Tourneys postponed
The East Region Basketball Tournament scheduled for today in Grand Forks has been postponed to Friday. Schedule and game times will be unchanged, according to Athletic Director Todd Olson of Grand Forks Public Schools.
The State Swimming and Diving Meet scheduled for Friday and Saturday has been postponed until Monday and Tuesday.
Flights canceled
Four flights scheduled to leave Grand Forks International Airport today have been canceled due to weather conditions.
Flights scheduled for 5 a.m., 11:05 a.m., 2:59 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. have been canceled.
One flight scheduled for an 8:10 a.m. departure left the gate at 10:46 a.m. but had not yet taken off, according to executive assistant Coleen Peterson.

Friday ski canceled; Saturday Ski Day still on
The Friday night Candlelight Ski in Grand Forks has been canceled.
Greenway Ski Day, however, will carry on as scheduled Saturday.
Ski Day events begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. A chili feed starts at 11 a.m., sleigh rides begin at noon and cardboard sled races begin at 1 p.m. Events wrap up at 4 p.m.

Dial-A-Ride suspendedIn Grand Forks, heavy snowfall today has forced the suspension of Dial-A-Ride and Senior Rider services until city crews can clear secondary roads of snow, according to the Grand Forks public information office.
The night bus will not run tonight, but regular city bus routes are running today.
Further delays or suspensions may be necessary, depending on additional snowfall, according to the office.
