Speeds reduced for U.S. 2 crossover lanes east of Crookston

Motorists are urged to slow down when approaching the temporary crossover lanes on U.S. Highway 2 east of Crookston at the junction of Minnesota Highway 9.

Motorists are urged to slow down when approaching the temporary crossover lanes on U.S. Highway 2 east of Crookston at the junction of Minnesota Highway 9.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has reduced the speed limit from 50 mph to 40 mph as a safety measure at the crossovers, made necessary because of the collapse of a portion of Highway 2 near the Red Lake River embankment.

In addition to the crossovers, a center left turn lane is also in place at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 9 to accommodate westbound traffic turning south of Highway 9.
