SISSETON, S.D. -- Law officers in eastern South Dakota are seeking information into a suspicious vehicle with a 200-pound white male who is believed to be attempting to abduct children.

Three separate incidents in Britton, Redfield and Sisseton have been reported to law enforcement in the past two weeks, the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office said.

All three incidents involved a white van, although the children in the first incident said there were four people in the van.

That first incident was July 13 in the city park in Britton where the vehicle was described as white cargo van with side windows. It was reported that four people approached two children and asked them to get into the van.

Two days later, on July 15, a white box van with reportedly no side windows approached two children in Redfield and the man tried to pull one child into the van at the city park.

The last reported incident was Tuesday in Sisseton when a man approached a child in a public area and asked the child to get into the van. The van was described as a white cargo van with side windows and rust on the bottom of the driver side of van starting behind the door and going to the rear of the van. It also was said to have a black metal front bumper.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local law enforcement office.
