CUSTER, S.D.--  One youth has been caught, but two others are still on the run after escaping from a youth correctional facility in Custer shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Department of Corrections staff members and law enforcement agencies are searching for two youth who ran away from the State Treatment and Rehabilitation (STAR) Academy..

One of the youth was apprehended south of the STAR Academy campus just after 2 a.m.

One of the missing youth is a 16-year-old Native American male. He is 6-feet-1 and weighs 215 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. The other missing youth is a 17-year-old Native American male. He is 5-feet-7 and weighs 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

There are a total of 69 youth housed in the STAR Academy programs.
