East Grand Forks provides an abundance of activities for everyone in the family during any season. We are lucky to have four distinct seasons and are able to take advantage of the many recreational and sporting events each season.
In the winter, families enjoy snowmobiling, hockey and cross-country skiing; in the summer, they participate in fishing, biking and swimming. Giving the family an opportunity to cheer the home team to victory, a variety of high school and youth sports are available as well.
East Grand Forks offers parks, bike paths, and many annual community-wide events like Catfish Days and Heritage Days.
System-wide, there is an array of opportunities for adults and children to participate in sports. East Grand Forks schools offer hockey, baseball, tennis, football and many other activities.
East Grand Forks enjoys a number of recreational facilities, including indoor and outdoor skating rinks.

The Greenway
One of the newest recreational additions to the communities of East Grand Forks and Grand Forks is the Greenway. Located alongthe Red and Red Lake rivers, the Greenway encompasses about 2,200 acres of open space offering year-round recreational activities, including canoeing/kayaking, fishing and birding.
The Greenway will offer more than 20 miles of asphalt trails connected by two non-motorized bridges. The Greenwat also features a new campground in East Grand Forks.
Ice skating
If ice skating is your idea of a great way to spend an afternoon or evening, East Grand Forks is perfect for you. There are seven ice skating rinks in East Grand Forks. Many of the outdoor rinks have access to warming houses, too. Not so big on the great outdoors for your skating pleasure? Not a problem. In East Grand Forks, there are two indoor skating arenas. Some of these facilities offer some recreational skating time and ice rentals.
Snowmobiling
Snowmobile enthusiasts have an opportunity to enjoy their sport in East Grand Forks. There are groomed trails and numerous trails. Local snowmobile clubs host fun runs for families several times each winter. With an average of 60 inches of snowfall each year, snowmobiling is a popular pastime from December through March.

For the golfing enthusiast, there's no need to go too far. Valley Golf in East Grand Forks offers a unique 18-hole layout that challenges all levels of golfers. The course has a beautiful setting for any type of group function, from a company golf outing to wedding receptions. A pro shop, driving range, snack bar and banquet facilities with full bar service.
