A West Fargo man was injured and a Sartell, Minn., man was killed Saturday afternoon when two snowmobiles collideed on South Twin Lake in eastern Mahnomen County, according to the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office in Mahnomen, Minn.
About 5:50 p.m., Saturday, the call came in: a group of snowmobiles going south across the lake when the leader hit a big snow ridge. As he turned around to warn the others, he was hit by another snowmobile.
Christopher Ebensteiner, 31, Sartell, was dead at the scene. Gregory Else, 30, West Fargo, was taken by a private vehicle to a hospital in Fargo with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol was ruled out as a factor and the accident remains under investigation, according to the sheriff's office.
Sartell is near St. Cloud, Minn.
