A winter storm watch is in effect for eastern N.D. and northwestern Minnesota through Sunday night. The storm will move down from British Columbia, through Montana and Saskatchewan, into North Dakota on Saturday, and will move into Minnesota on Sunday. Significant snow, sleet and ice accumulations are expected.
Snow accumulations may be heavy late Saturday night and Sunday morning. Six inches or more of snow is possible across eastern N.D. and parts of west central Minnesota. Areas along the Highway 2 corridor can expect to receive the heaviest snow.
Winds will be from the east at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph, while the snow is falling. Blowing and drifting snow will increase on Sunday afternoon and evening. Winds will subside Sunday night.
Another significant storm is expected to hit Tuesday and Wednesday.
